A devastating crash occurred on Thursday morning in Daytona Beach, Florida, resulting in one fatality. The incident happened around 11 a.m. near South Street and Russell Drive, just east of South Nova Road, close to the Museum of Arts and Sciences. According to the Daytona Beach Police Department, a pickup truck crashed into two power poles, becoming engulfed in flames upon impact.
Officers responding to the scene found the pickup truck fully ablaze. The Daytona Beach Fire Department quickly arrived and extinguished the fire, but unfortunately, the person inside the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased has not been released as authorities are still in the process of notifying next-of-kin.
The crash raised safety concerns due to the involvement of two power poles. Florida Power & Light officials were called to the scene to address the damaged utility infrastructure. The investigation, led by the Daytona Beach Police Department, revealed that only one vehicle was involved, and there were no passengers.
