LOWELL, Ind. – An 18-year-old man died early Thursday morning after a pickup truck rollover in unincorporated Lowell, Indiana, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Department.
The single-vehicle crash occurred around 3 a.m. at the intersection of 231st Avenue and Colfax Street. The driver, an 18-year-old man from Illinois, was driving west on 231st Avenue when he lost control of the truck.
Authorities stated the truck struck a culvert, became airborne, and rolled over after landing, ejecting the driver. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
The driver’s identity is being withheld pending notification of family, the Lake County Sheriff’s Department reported. The department’s Reconstruction Team is currently investigating the cause of the crash.
