GMC has expanded its Sierra EV pickup truck lineup for 2025, introducing new trims that enhance the model’s appeal. The 2025 Sierra EV now includes the Denali Extended Range and Denali Max Range, both available now, with the Elevation and AT4 trims scheduled to follow later this year.
The Denali Max Range, which was tested, boasts a curb weight of 8,987 pounds and delivers exceptional performance with its powerful all-electric powertrain. The Max Range model produces 760 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque, making it remarkably fast and capable. The Extended Range model offers 645 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque, with ranges of 390 miles and 460 miles for the Extended and Max Range models, respectively.
Key Features and Capabilities
The Sierra EV features a refined interior with a spacious cabin, often described as feeling like a luxurious room on wheels. A 16.8-inch vertical touchscreen with Google Built-In serves as the infotainment centerpiece, complemented by practical physical controls for essential functions. One of the Sierra EV’s standout features is the MultiPro Midgate, which allows the rear wall and seats to fold down, extending the cargo area to up to 10 feet in length, or nearly 11 feet with the tailgate lowered.
Driving Experience
Driving the Sierra EV was a highlight, as it eliminated the typical drawbacks associated with both gas-powered trucks and EVs. The powerful electric powertrain made the truck’s considerable weight feel inconsequential, delivering smooth and rapid acceleration. While some road roughness was noticeable, the overall ride quality was generally smooth.
Pricing and Trim Levels
The base price for the Denali Max Range is $98,400, with the tested model’s price coming in at $102,085. The lineup now includes:
- Denali Extended Range
- Denali Max Range (available now)
- Elevation (entry-level, coming later this year)
- AT4 (off-road oriented, coming later this year)
The expanded trim options and impressive capabilities position the GMC Sierra EV as a compelling choice in the electric pickup market.
