Honda has announced significant improvements to the 2025 Prologue, its all-electric SUV, boosting both power and range. The Prologue, which was the best-selling non-Tesla EV in the final quarter of 2024, produced impressive sales figures with 33,017 units sold last year.

While Honda has been somewhat reserved with specifics, the entry-level front-wheel drive variant of the 2025 Prologue now achieves an EPA-estimated range of 308 miles (496 km). This marks an increase of 12 miles (19 km), and the company has confirmed that the battery’s capacity remains unchanged at 85 kWh. Moreover, dual-motor all-wheel drive versions, specifically the EX and Touring trims, also get a range increase, now capable of traveling 294 miles (473 km), which is a 13-mile (21 km) improvement. The top-tier Prologue Elite sees a more modest range extension, gaining 10 miles (16 km) to reach a total of 283 miles (455 km).
The 2025 Prologue isn’t just about increased range; it also packs a power punch. The front-wheel drive variants now feature a more robust motor, generating 220 hp (164 kW / 223 PS) and 243 lb-ft (329 Nm) of torque, an increase of 8 hp (6 kW / 8 PS) and 7 lb-ft (9 Nm). The dual-motor all-wheel drive models haven’t been overlooked either. They now deliver 300 hp (224 kW / 304 PS) and 355 lb-ft (481 Nm) of torque; these are improvements of 12 hp (9 kW / 12 PS) and 25 lb-ft (34 Nm).
Interestingly, the enhanced power outputs of the 2025 Prologue match those of the 2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV. However, those hoping for a Prologue Type R with the SS’ 615 hp (459 kW / 624 PS) dual-motor all-wheel drive system will be disappointed.
Despite these upgrades, pricing remains consistent, with the electric crossover starting at $47,400. However, the destination charge has risen slightly from $1,395 to $1,450.. Notably, all 2025 Prologue models qualify for the $7,500 federal tax credit.
