2025 Lexus LX 500d: A Fresh Take on Luxury and Capability
Lexus has unveiled the 2025 LX 500d, its flagship luxury SUV, introducing a series of updates and enhancements. After showcasing the vehicle at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo, the company has resumed bookings for the SUV, which were temporarily suspended in February.
The new 2025 model introduces the Overtrail variant, designed for off-road enthusiasts, alongside the existing Urban trim.
Two Distinct Models: Urban and Overtrail
The 2025 Lexus LX 500d offers two distinct models: the Urban and the Overtrail. The Urban trim is tailored for city driving and features a sporty silver-finish front grille, horizontal thin LED headlights, and 22-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Additional elements include chrome trim, LED taillights in a cluster, a blacked-out rear bumper, and color options such as Sonic Quartz, Sonic Titanium, and Graphite Black.
The Overtrail variant, geared towards off-road adventures, shares many features with the Urban version but distinguishes itself with a gray grille, silver skid plates, and 18-inch gray alloy wheels equipped with all-terrain tires. It also includes front and rear differential locks for improved off-road performance and is exclusively available in the Moon Desert color.
Interior Features and Comfort
Inside, the Lexus LX 500d prioritizes a premium experience with luxurious materials and features. The Urban trim boasts a tan and maroon dual-tone interior, while the Overtrail trim showcases an all-dark green interior theme. The dashboard incorporates a three-spoke black steering wheel, a dedicated touchscreen, and an upper screen for managing various vehicle parameters.
The center console is equipped with a gearshift knob, two cup holders, a wireless charging tray for smartphones, and an armrest-integrated storage bin. The SUV is also loaded with technology, including a 12.3-inch display screen, an 8-inch driver’s instrument display, and a 7-inch screen for secondary functions. Passengers can enjoy a 4-zone automatic climate control system, a 25-speaker audio system, a rear-seat entertainment system featuring two 11.6-inch displays, and heated, massaging front seats.
Performance and Powertrain
The 2025 Lexus LX 500d is powered by a 3.3-liter V6 diesel engine. This engine delivers a smooth 304 bhp and 700Nm of maximum torque to all four wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission, ensuring both comfortable highway cruising and capable off-road performance.
Advanced Safety Features
Safety is a key focus in the 2025 LX 500d, which is equipped with a comprehensive array of safety features. These include 10 airbags, hill assist control, an electronic parking brake, and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) such as adaptive cruise control, lane departure assist, and automatic emergency braking further enhance road safety.
Pricing
The 2025 Lexus LX 500d is available in two trims: the Urban, priced at Rs 3 crore, and the Overtrail, priced at Rs 3.12 crore (ex-showroom, pan-India). These prices reflect the SUV’s premium features and luxurious appointments.
