41-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck on Van Wyck Expressway
QUEENS, NEW YORK (WABC) — A 41-year-old man died after being struck by a car on the Van Wyck Expressway on Tuesday, according to police reports.
The incident occurred shortly after 11:35 a.m. on the expressway’s southbound lanes near Jewel Avenue. Authorities indicate the victim exited his vehicle on the parkway when he was hit by another passing car.
The driver of the second vehicle reportedly did not realize what had happened and continued driving. After being contacted by officers, the driver returned to the scene.
The 41-year-old man was transported to New York-Presbyterian Queens, where he was pronounced dead.
No arrests have been made as of this report, and the investigation is still ongoing.
