Shocking Incident in Australia: 5-Month-Old Baby Injured by Random Fire Extinguisher Attack

A 5-month-old baby girl required hospital treatment after two unidentified e-scooter riders randomly sprayed a fire extinguisher into her parents’ car in Sippy Downs, Queensland, Australia. The incident occurred on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at around 7:50 p.m. when the baby, Pixie, was in the backseat of their Silver Suzuki Vitara at traffic lights on High Street.

According to Queensland Police, the two individuals on e-scooters approached the vehicle and discharged a fire extinguisher through the window, filling the car with white powder and gas. Both Pixie and her 29-year-old father required hospital treatment for “minor injuries.”

“The car just filled up with gas and white powder straight away,” Pixie’s mother, Tiffani Teasdale, told ABC News. “[Pixie] was completely covered in white powder and just looked like she was in shock; she wasn’t even crying.”

At the hospital, doctors instructed Teasdale to hold down Pixie while they administered 100 milliliters of saline solution into her eyes. Pixie was discharged in the early hours of the morning but requires continued monitoring. Teasdale described her daughter as having a red face, slightly swollen eyes, and being a bit wheezy.

Teasdale shared a video on Facebook’s Sunshine Coast Community Board showing the car’s interior covered in white film and damaged baby items. “Very lucky my partner had my child in the car and that her safety was his first priority,” she captioned the video.

The Queensland police have found the fire extinguisher believed to have been used and are investigating the incident. They are appealing for witnesses and any relevant CCTV or dashcam footage from between 7:30 p.m. and 8:20 p.m. in the area.

A local car detailing business has offered to clean the family’s car for free. The incident has raised concerns about the safety of random acts by e-scooter riders and the need for greater awareness and discipline among young riders.
