Mum-of-four Susan Hamilton, 74, from Manorcunningham has been named as the tragic victim of a crash in Donegal
A 74-year-old mother of four has tragically died following a collision between a car and a van in County Donegal. Susan Hamilton from Manorcunningham was involved in the crash at Bunlin Bridge on the Milford to Cranford Road at approximately 7:30 pm on Friday, May 30, 2025. Ms. Hamilton was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the van, a man in his 50s, was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The road was closed temporarily for forensic collision investigation and reopened at 4 pm the following day. Gardai are appealing for witnesses and any road users with camera footage, particularly dash-cam footage, from between 7:15 pm and 7:45 pm to come forward. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities urging anyone with information to contact Milford Garda Station or the Garda Confidential Line. Ms. Hamilton’s death marks the seventh road fatality in Donegal this year.

    Investigation and Appeal for Witnesses

Gardai are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision. Inspector Sean McDaid of the Garda Road Traffic Corps in Co Donegal has appealed for witnesses to come forward. “Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on the R245 at Bunlin Bridge, Milford, Co. Donegal, this evening Friday 30th May 2025,” the statement read. Anyone with information is urged to contact the authorities.
