Toronto Police are investigating a fatal incident that occurred on Friday afternoon in the city’s west end, where a 94-year-old woman was struck and killed by a pickup truck.
The collision took place on King Street West at Massey Street, west of Strachan Avenue, around 3:25 p.m., according to police.
Constable Sinderela Chung reported that the woman was crossing King Street West from north to south when she was hit by a westbound Chevrolet pickup truck driven by a 60-year-old man. The victim was transported to a hospital, where she died from her injuries.
“The driver remained at the scene,” Chung stated in a press release issued on Saturday, adding that the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are asking anyone with information or camera video footage related to the incident to contact Toronto Traffic Services at 416-808-1900 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS.
