How Emergency Assist Works
Imagine a driver experiencing a medical emergency or falling asleep at the wheel on a busy highway. Volkswagen’s Emergency Assist is engineered to manage such scenarios. Here’s how it functions:

- Full System Activation: If the driver remains unresponsive, Emergency Assist takes control. The vehicle uses its sensors to safely pull over to the side of the road, activating hazard lights and honking the horn to alert other drivers.
- Emergency Response: Simultaneously, the car automatically contacts emergency services and unlocks the doors.
- Secure Positioning: The car then comes to a complete stop on the roadside, ready for assistance.
