A high-speed police pursuit that began in West Covina ended in a downtown Los Angeles parking structure.
The pursuit started when officers from the West Covina Police Department attempted to stop a speeding pickup truck. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) took over the pursuit when the driver entered the freeways.
The chase then continued through downtown Los Angeles. During the pursuit, the driver of the pickup truck was seen driving on the wrong side of the road several times, heading into oncoming traffic. At one point, the driver turned off the headlights while inexplicably circling near the intersection of 8th Street and Grand Avenue.
