Mercedes-Benz Enhances eVito Panel Van with Longer Range
Mercedes-Benz is expanding the capabilities of its eVito panel van with a new battery option designed to enhance its appeal to commercial users. The updated van will now be available with a larger 90 kWh battery, significantly increasing its range.
Previously, the medium-sized electric van from Stuttgart, Germany, was available with a 60 kWh battery paired with an 85 kW electric motor. The addition of the 90 kWh battery extends the van’s range up to 480 kilometers based on the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) cycle.

The new 90 kWh battery is already in use in the EQV MPV for private buyers and the eVito Tourer estate for commercial applications. The eVito panel van now also offers this larger battery as an option.
The new 90 kWh battery can be combined with either the familiar 85 kW motor or the eVito Tourer’s more powerful electric motor, which has a peak output of up to 150 kW.
The manufacturer’s suggested price for the eVito Transporter with the larger battery starts at €46,007.93 gross (approximately $50,000 USD) or €38,662 net, which includes a four-year maintenance package and a battery warranty covering up to 160,000 kilometers (about 99,400 miles) or eight years.

Mercedes-Benz updated its mid-size vans in mid-2023, which included exterior and interior design changes, upgrades to comfort, and enhanced safety and functionality. However, there were no alterations to the drive systems at the time. With the introduction of the 90 kWh battery, the manufacturer has revisited the van’s power system.
The previous eVito, with its relatively short range, offered only 50 kW DC charging capacity (with an optional 80 kW upgrade). Consequently, the van was mainly suited to urban environments. The new version with the larger battery costs approximately €2,500 extra.

According to Mercedes-Benz, the 90 kWh battery will make the electric van especially attractive to a broader range of commercial-sector users. The new version can be fast-charged with up to 110 kW, allowing the battery to replenish from 10 to 80 percent in roughly 40 minutes. The long and extra-long versions of the eVito measure 5,140 mm and 5,390 mm respectively, with the large battery not offered in the short-wheelbase model. The load volume inside the van holds up to 6.6 cubic meters.

Like the eVito Tourer, the eVito panel van includes the MBUX multimedia system, featuring a 10.25-inch central display and a 5.5-inch display in the instrument cluster. Additionally, it includes a keyless start system, an electric starting brake, and several safety and assistance systems. All panel van versions feature an onboard charger capable of 11 kW AC charging.
“With the new variants of the eVito panel van, we are expanding the fields of application for commercial electromobility and ensuring that locally CO₂-emission-free mobility is even more suitable for everyday use,” said Klaus Rehkugler, Head of Sales & Marketing Mercedes-Benz Vans.
