GMC is gearing up to expand its Sierra EV pickup truck lineup for the 2026 model year. The automaker is officially introducing both the Sierra EV Elevation base model and the Sierra EV AT4 off-road model. Denali versions of the truck will also be available.
The Sierra EV Elevation crew cab eAWD will start at $64,495, including destination charges. A key aspect of this announcement is the availability of multiple battery sizes. Given that many electric pickup trucks are known for their heavy weight, primarily due to large battery packs, GMC’s approach offers buyers more flexibility. Smaller batteries will help to lower the price of entry, decrease the truck’s overall weight, and affect total driving range. This also increases the payload capacities to a respectable 2,250 lbs for the Sierra EV Elevation and Sierra EV Denali models equipped with the Standard Range battery.
The largest battery configuration in the Sierra EV still provides an impressive driving range of up to 440 miles on a full charge. The Extended Range battery option is expected to deliver a claimed range of 390 miles. Importantly, these trucks are rated to tow up to 12,300 lbs. We will update this story with the estimated driving range for the smallest battery option when it’s available.
The Sierra EV AT4 will come with a 2-inch higher ride height and be equipped with 35-inch (285/75R18) all-terrain tires. It will also feature a special Terrain Mode that enhances traction and improves the truck’s off-road maneuverability.
