Illinois Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash in Northwest Indiana
LOWELL, Ind. — An 18-year-old man from Illinois died early Thursday morning in a single-vehicle crash in unincorporated Lowell, Indiana, according to authorities.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Department reported the crash occurred around 3 a.m. at 231st Avenue and Colfax Street.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, the man was driving west on 231st Avenue when he lost control of his pickup truck. The vehicle then struck a culvert, became airborne, landed, and overturned, ejecting the driver.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash. The man’s identity is being withheld pending notification of his family.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Department Reconstruction Team is currently investigating the incident.
