Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Radford, VA
A 19-year-old motorcyclist died on Friday after colliding with a pickup truck that was pulling a utility trailer, authorities confirmed.
The incident occurred around 3:15 p.m. at the intersection of East Main Street and High Meadows Parkway. According to investigators, Michael Price, 19, was riding his 2012 Kawasaki motorcycle westbound on East Main Street when the collision happened.
The 2021 Ram pickup truck, traveling eastbound on East Main Street, attempted to make a left turn onto High Meadows Parkway when the motorcycle struck the trailer attached to the truck. The impact ejected Price from his motorcycle.
Radford Fire and Rescue personnel responded quickly, providing immediate first aid before transporting Price to Carilion New River Valley Medical Center. Despite medical efforts, Price was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Radford City Police Department, assisted by the New River Valley Regional Traffic Crash Reconstruction Team, is investigating the incident. Authorities have not released additional details at this time.
