Mercedes Vision V Concept Previews Luxurious Electric Van
Mercedes has unveiled the Vision V concept, a flashy preview of a luxury van scheduled for production in 2026. The Vision V boasts a chrome-laden exterior with smooth lines and an illuminated Mercedes-Benz hood ornament. Inside, it features a massive 65-inch screen, a 42-speaker surround sound system, and seats that recline into a bed.

The Vision V is designed to serve as both a luxurious limousine for celebrities and a high-end family car. Its sleek shape is characterized by short overhangs, bold 24-inch wheels with illuminated elements, and smooth surfacing broken up by chrome decoration and clean lines. The traditional Mercedes grille has been reimagined with a mix of chrome and illuminated pieces, and its nearly circular shape is echoed at the back by a single taillight unit.

The interior is a ‘lounge-inspired’ space with massive doors that slide open to reveal a spacious cabin decked out in rich wood trim, white Nappa leather, and white silk. The Vision V packs a 42-speaker Dolby Atmos surround sound system, with four speakers mounted on pillars protruding from each wall. The center console features a touchpad for controlling the infotainment system and a fold-out table, mimicking a first-class airplane seat.
The Vision V is designed to be a vehicle that is ridden in rather than driven, with a focus on passenger experience. A gigantic 65-inch retractable 4K screen rolls up from the floor in front of a glass partition that can change from transparent to opaque. The infotainment system includes various ‘digital environments’ such as Entertainment, Relax, Work, Gaming, Shopping, Discovery, and Karaoke modes.

While the Vision V concept looks futuristic and unlikely to reach production in its current form, it showcases Mercedes’ vision for a luxurious electric van. The production van is expected to make a splash in the luxury vehicle market when it arrives in 2026, competing with established models like the Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator.
