In the first two months of 2025, new car registrations in the European Union experienced a 3% decline compared to the same period in 2024. The downturn was particularly pronounced in some of the bloc’s largest markets, with Italy witnessing a 6% drop, Germany recording a 4.6% decrease, and France seeing registrations fall by 3.3%. However, not all major markets followed this trend, as Spain bucked the negative pattern with an 8.4% increase in new car registrations during the same period.
