The Volvo EX90 has been crowned World Luxury Car by the World Car Awards expert jury, made up of 96 car journalists from 30 countries. This seven-seat family SUV impressed the jury with its refined and comfortable interior, advanced safety technology, and distinctive Scandinavian design.
Key Features of the Volvo EX90
The EX90 boasts a 510 horsepower twin motor, providing a silent yet powerful ride that was appreciated during the jury’s extensive test drives. The vehicle’s design follows the Scandinavian principle that form follows function, with a confident yet smoothly rounded front end that optimizes airflow and improves aerodynamics.
Innovative Safety Features
One of the EX90’s notable features is its integrated lidar system, which is seamlessly incorporated into the roofline under a low-profile cover. This system, combined with cameras, radars, and ultrasonic sensors, provides a detailed image of the car’s surroundings, significantly enhancing safety.
Luxurious Interior
Inside, the EX90 offers a quiet and luxurious cabin, featuring new progressive materials such as Nordico, a leather-free upholstery made from recycled and bio-attributed materials. The advanced interior LED technology mimics natural sunlight, adding to the ambiance, while back-lit wood decor further enhances the luxurious feel.
Practicality and Space
The EX90 stands out in its segment with its true seven-seat configuration and ample trunk space. With all seats up, it offers 324 liters of storage behind the third row, expanding to 697 liters when the third row is folded.

“We’re pleased to see the EX90 get the recognition it truly deserves,” said Håkan Samuelsson, CEO of Volvo Cars. “This award proves that the EX90 appeals to some of the most demanding customers worldwide.”
This award marks Volvo Cars’ third World Car Awards win, following the Volvo XC60 as overall 2018 World Car of the Year and the Volvo EX30 as 2024 World Urban Car. The company continues to make its mark in the automotive industry with its innovative electric vehicles.
