Denza, the premium new energy vehicle (NEV) brand of BYD, has unveiled its first concept sports car, the Denza Z, at the Shanghai auto show. The vehicle showcases several new technologies that highlight Denza’s advancements in the NEV sector.

The Denza Z features BYD’s e3 technology, which provides tri-motor independent drive with dual-motor independent steering at the rear wheels. This technology is a scaled-down version of BYD’s e4 platform used in ultra-luxury cars. The concept car also introduces the industry’s first NEV-exclusive DiSus-M body control system.
DiSus-M Body Control System
The DiSus-M system utilizes the magnetorheological principle to enable free adjustment of the suspension system. It offers two-way stepless adjustment of rebound and compression damping with a damping force build-up time of less than 10ms. This results in fast response, wide range, and low noise operation. When integrated with the road pre-scan system, DiSus-M can provide a comfortable experience across various road conditions.
Steer-by-Wire Technology
The Denza Z also incorporates BYD’s steer-by-wire technology, eliminating the mechanical connection between the steering wheel and the wheels. This system allows for a folding steering wheel, enhancing safety by reducing the risk of conventional steering column intrusion into the cockpit.
