Motorcyclist Killed in Collision with Pickup Truck in Enfield
ENFIELD — A local motorcyclist died Thursday night after a collision with a pickup truck on Town Farm Road, police reported. Jashua Martinez-Martinez, 32, of Enfield was pronounced dead at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts, following the crash, according to Officer Timothy Gerrish.
The collision occurred around 9:10 p.m. near Grassmere Country Club. The 78-year-old driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and wasn’t injured. A regional crash investigation team, Metro Traffic Services, is handling the investigation.
Recent statistics from AAA Northeast show that about 60% of motorcycle fatalities occur between May and September, with overall motorcycle deaths trending upward in the United States. The organization has offered safety advice for both motorcyclists and other motorists sharing the road.
