Seven people lost their lives in a fiery collision between a tour van and a pickup truck on U.S. Highway 20 near Henry’s Lake in eastern Idaho, close to Yellowstone National Park. The accident occurred around 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2025.
The Mercedes passenger van, which was operating as a tour vehicle, collided with a Dodge Ram pickup truck. The van was carrying 14 people, while the pickup truck had one occupant. Six passengers from the van and the driver of the pickup truck succumbed to their injuries.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by the Idaho State Police. U.S. Highway 20 was closed for nearly seven hours following the incident but has since reopened.
Henry’s Lake, where the accident took place, is approximately 17 miles from West Yellowstone, Montana, a gateway to Yellowstone National Park.
