MG Windsor Pro Launching on May 6: What’s New
JSW MG Motor is gearing up to launch the MG Windsor Pro, a long-range version of the MG Windsor EV, on May 6. The new model promises several upgrades, including a bigger battery pack, subtle styling tweaks, and additional features.
Key Features of MG Windsor Pro
The MG Windsor Pro is expected to come with several advanced technologies not available in the standard MG Windsor EV. These include:
- V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) Feature: Allowing owners to charge equipment and gadgets using the car’s onboard battery.
- V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) Charging: Enabling the EV to charge another electric vehicle using its battery pack.
- Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System): Combining 12 major safety features, including Traffic Jam Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Departure Warning.
Powertrain Upgrades
The MG Windsor Pro will feature a significant upgrade in its powertrain:
- The existing MG Windsor EV comes with a 38 kWh battery pack, offering a range of 332 kilometers.
- In contrast, the MG Windsor Pro will boast a 50.6 kWh battery pack, with a claimed range of 460 kilometers.
These upgrades are expected to further strengthen MG’s position in the Indian electric car segment, where it already has models like the MG Comet, MG ZS EV, and Windsor EV.

With the launch of the MG Windsor Pro, the carmaker aims to ramp up its sales numbers in the competitive Indian EV market. The new model is expected to build on the success of the MG Windsor EV, which has become a popular choice since its launch.
