2025 Jaecoo J8 Lands in Australia with Competitive Pricing
Jaecoo is set to double its Australian product lineup with the introduction of the 2025 J8 large SUV, which will be available exclusively as a five-seater for now. Priced from $49,990 drive-away for the front-drive Track variant, the J8 significantly undercuts its main competitors in the large SUV segment.
Pricing and Specifications
The Jaecoo J8 will be offered in two grades: the Track 2WD and the Ridge AWD. The Track starts at $49,990 drive-away, while the top-spec Ridge with all-wheel drive is priced from $54,990 drive-away. This pricing strategy positions the J8 competitively against rivals like the Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Sorento, Mazda CX-80, Nissan Pathfinder, and Toyota Kluger.
Key Features
The J8 is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine producing 183kW and 385Nm, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The base Track model returns a claimed fuel economy of 8.3L/100km, while the Ridge is rated at 8.6L/100km. Standard features across the range include:
- 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster
- 14-speaker sound system
- Leather seats with heated, cooled, and massaging front seats
- 20-inch alloy wheels
- LED headlights and powered tailgate
- Advanced safety features including adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency braking
The Ridge grade adds several premium features, including a torque-vectoring AWD system, heated and cooled rear seats, interior ambient lighting, and a suede headliner.
Availability and Warranty
The 2025 Jaecoo J8 will go on sale in June, with test drives available from mid-May. Like all new Jaecoo models in Australia, the J8 comes with an eight-year/unlimited kilometre warranty.
While Australia will initially miss out on the seven-seat version of the J8 available overseas, Jaecoo has left the door open for a potential three-row variant in the future.
