2025 Jeep Avenger Now Australia’s Cheapest Electric SUV After $16,000 EOFY Discount

The Jeep Avenger can now be purchased for as little as $40,000 drive-away, making it Australia’s most affordable electric SUV. The entry-level Longitude version of Jeep’s first EV is being offered at this price, including premium paint, as part of an end-of-financial-year promotion that is available while stocks last.

This represents a significant price drop from the original $49,990 before on-roads price announced in September, and even more so from the initial $53,990 plus on-roads price revealed in March 2024. The new base price includes premium paint, normally a $990 option, and statutory on-road costs of about $5000, depending on the state or territory. This brings the total saving to around $16,000.

As Australia’s first all-electric light SUV, the Avenger undercuts competitors like the BYD Atto 3 and the upcoming Hyundai Inster. It is now priced lower than the MG 4 hatch but remains more expensive than some small electric hatchbacks like the GWM Ora and BYD Dolphin.

The Avenger is powered by a single electric motor producing 115kW of power and 260Nm of torque, with a 51kWh battery offering a claimed driving range of at least 391km (WLTP). While the prices of the mid-range Avenger Limited and top-shelf Summit remain unchanged at $54,990 and $60,990 plus on-roads, Jeep is offering ‘substantial factory bonuses’ at the discretion of its dealers.

Jeep Australia sold only seven Avengers last month and has found just 21 buyers for its first EV so far this year. The model is expected to be joined by mild-hybrid and full-hybrid 4xe powertrains locally in the future.
