Cadillac Celestiq Review: A Luxury EV with a Unique Flair

The Cadillac Celestiq is a bold, ambitious entry into the ultra-luxury electric vehicle market, priced from $340,000. With only 25 units planned for 2025 and ‘no more than two per week’ for 2026, this hand-built EV is as exclusive as it is intriguing.

The Celestiq boasts a striking design with concept car proportions that exude Hollywood glamour and confidence. Beneath its carbon fiber bodywork lies GM’s Ultium EV platform, featuring a motor and integrated gearbox on each axle, producing 655bhp and 646lb ft. The 111kWh battery offers up to 303 miles of range, with charging capabilities of up to 190kW.

    Interior Luxury and Technology

Inside, the Celestiq is a haven of luxury, with a minimalist, mid-century modern aesthetic. The interior features a massive 55in screen dashboard, reminiscent of the Mercedes-Benz Hyperscreen but less gimmicky. Each of the four seats is heated, cooled, and includes a massage function, with top-notch materials throughout, including over 100 3D-printed metal pieces.

    Driving Experience

The Celestiq’s driving dynamics are a highlight, with a stiff aluminum chassis, five-link suspension setup, air springs, Magnetic Ride 4.0 dampers, and active anti-roll bars. The result is a surprisingly enjoyable and composed ride, even in Sport mode. While it’s not a true sports saloon, the Celestiq’s light, precise steering and rear-wheel steering make it agile for its size.

    Verdict

The Cadillac Celestiq is a ‘wild, strange, and sort of wonderful’ luxury EV that offers a unique blend of style, technology, and driving pleasure. While it may not appeal to everyone, for those who appreciate its distinctive character, it could be the perfect choice. With its extensive customization options and bespoke ownership experience, the Celestiq is sure to delight its discerning clientele.
