According to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the incident occurred on Friday at approximately 1:30 p.m. when a drug-sniffing dog detected 14 foil-wrapped bundles of cocaine concealed within the wheel well and dashboard of a 2013 Nissan Titan pickup truck.
The seized cocaine weighed 28.5 pounds. CBP officials reported that the woman was driving alone and was subsequently transferred to the Texas Department of Public Safety to face state charges related to the drug smuggling attempt.
