On Monday, May 19, at approximately 1 p.m., a serious accident occurred on Route 23B in Catskill, New York, involving a 2020 Chevrolet pickup truck. According to state police, the driver, Reis L. Quick, 24, of West Shokan, lost control of the vehicle, crossing over the westbound lane and exiting the shoulder to the left of the roadway. The truck subsequently struck a commercial building and a pedestrian.
The investigation revealed that Quick’s vehicle not only damaged the building but also hit a 21-year-old female from Leeds. Fortunately, her injuries were reported as not life-threatening, and she was transported to Columbia Memorial Hospital for treatment. Quick, however, remained uninjured in the crash.
As a result of the incident, Quick was issued multiple traffic tickets. The exact circumstances leading to the loss of control are still under investigation, but the consequences of the driver’s actions were clear: damage to property and harm to another person.
