Xiaomi YU7 Electric SUV to Launch in Three Variants
The Chinese tech brand Xiaomi has previewed its second electric car, the YU7 SUV, ahead of its official debut. The electric SUV will be offered in three variants, with pricing to be revealed at the market launch in July 2025.

Initial details of the vehicle leaked via type approval documents in December last year suggested two all-wheel-drive variants. Xiaomi has since revised its plans, confirming three configurations for its first electric SUV. The YU7 measures 4.99 meters in length, featuring a three-meter wheelbase, and is 1.99 meters wide and 1.61 meters tall. Depending on the version, kerb weight ranges from 2,140 to 2,460 kilograms.

Batteries support fast charging at up to 5.2C, allowing for a CLTC-rated 620 kilometers of range added in just 15 minutes.
Advanced Features and Safety
The vehicle comes equipped with lidar sensors, 4D millimetre-wave radar, and anti-glare coated cameras for optimal image quality. The autonomous functions are processed via Nvidia’s Drive AGX Thor platform, running Xiaomi’s proprietary assisted driving software.
Interior features include Nappa leather upholstery with massage functions in the front seats, reclining up to 123 degrees. Rear seats recline up to 135 degrees and feature their own touchscreen for climate, media, and navigation control. A large central touchscreen and a 1.10-meter-wide ‘HyperVision’ display are also part of the dashboard.
The YU7 is seen as a key rival to Tesla’s Model Y in China, with Chinese EV media speculating it could become “a real threat” in the competitive mid-size electric SUV segment.
