The Italian commercial vehicle manufacturer Iveco has supplied 40 eDaily electric vans to VIR by JP, a subsidiary of the French Jacky Perrenot Group. The vehicles are designed for delivery services and are equipped to handle the challenges posed by environmental zones in city centers. ## Key Features of the eDaily Fleet The 40 eDaily vehicles delivered are chassis that were subsequently completed with customized bodies by the customer. They are intended for delivering heavy and bulky products such as furniture, sofas, household appliances, and fitness equipment. The electric vans primarily operate in the Paris region, with additional presence in Bordeaux and Salon-de-Provence. Each vehicle covers an average of 150 kilometers per day and completes its route with a single overnight charge at the depot.
Specifications and Benefits
The eDaily fleet features a chassis with a 23-square-meter box body and is equipped with three battery packs, offering a range of up to 330 kilometers. The electric motor delivers up to 140 kW and provides up to 400 Nm of torque. According to Iveco’s press release, the Jacky Perrenot Group invested in this fleet to meet environmental zone challenges and support customers in transitioning to more sustainable transport modes. The eDailys enable quiet deliveries and significantly reduce local emissions, helping transport companies meet European CO2 emission requirements for new commercial vehicles from 2035.
Jacky Perrenot’s Commitment to Electromobility
Jacky Perrenot has been an early adopter of electromobility. By the end of 2023, the logistics company announced plans to procure 168 electric trucks and 90 truck charging stations. In summer 2024, they specified that 100 of these electric trucks would come from MAN. The company aims to have 250 electric vehicles in its fleet by the end of 2025.
