Rivian has opened ordering for its Commercial Van (RCV) to businesses of all sizes, ending the exclusivity period with Amazon that began in 2019. The electric delivery van, available in two configurations – Delivery 500 and Delivery 700 – starts at $82,900.
Key Features of Rivian Commercial Van
The RCV comes in two models:
- Delivery 500: Smaller version with 487 cubic feet of storage, 2663 pounds maximum payload, and 9500 pounds GVWR
- Delivery 700: Larger version with 652 cubic feet of storage, 2258 pounds maximum payload, and 9500 pounds GVWR
Both models share an identical powertrain featuring a single motor producing 320 horsepower and 299 pound-feet of torque on the front axle. The EPA estimated range is approximately 161 miles for both versions, with the Delivery 500 reaching 161 miles and the Delivery 700 reaching 160 miles.
Charging Capabilities
The RCV supports:
- Regular AC charging up to 11 kW
- DC charging up to 100 kW
Availability and Pricing
- Pricing starts at $82,900 for the Delivery 500
- Pricing starts at $86,900 for the Delivery 700
- Fleet inquiries are now live on Rivian’s website
- No minimum purchase requirement for businesses

The expansion follows the end of the four-year exclusivity agreement with Amazon in November 2023. While Rivian initially limited sales to large fleet purchases after the exclusivity period, they have now removed all minimum purchase requirements, allowing businesses of any size to order the RCV.
This move opens up Rivian’s electric delivery van market to small businesses and individual entrepreneurs who can now access the same vehicles Amazon has been using since 2019. The decision to make the RCV available to a broader market aligns with Rivian’s strategy to expand its customer base beyond its initial large-fleet clients.
