New Haven to Expand Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Park New Haven and G9EV, a Southbury-based commercial electric vehicle charging station company, have announced a multi-year partnership to install over 100 new electric vehicle (EV) charging ports in New Haven. The initiative aims to enhance the city’s sustainability and generate long-term revenue for the local economy.
The partnership will see the installation of approximately 30 dual-port level 2 chargers in 2025, followed by an additional 25 dual chargers in 2026. This phased approach will bring the total number of new EV charging ports to over 100. According to Douglas Hausladen, executive director at Park New Haven, “We are thrilled to be partnering with a Connecticut-based manufacturer like G9EV. This partnership not only supports our sustainability goals but also strengthens our local economy by generating long-term revenue for New Haven.”
The expansion of EV charging infrastructure is part of a broader effort to promote sustainable energy solutions and reduce the city’s environmental footprint. By collaborating with local businesses, Park New Haven is demonstrating its commitment to creating a more sustainable future for its residents.
