Truck Crashes into Chemung Home After Police Pursuit
A 43-year-old Tioga County man, Terry Lynn Murray, faces multiple felony charges after his pickup truck crashed into a residence in the Town of Chemung on May 27, injuring two occupants. The incident occurred at 959 Dry Brook Road around 9:25 p.m. Tuesday.
According to state police, Murray’s 2014 Toyota Tundra was initially involved in a pursuit initiated by the Sayre Borough Police Department. The chase was discontinued when Murray crossed into New York state. Subsequently, Murray crashed his truck into the Chemung home.
Two residents were injured in the crash and were extricated by emergency medical personnel. Connie A. Miller, 71, suffered serious internal injuries and was transported to Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, where she was listed in critical condition. John J. Miller, 76, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Murray was arrested at the scene and charged with first-degree vehicular assault, driving while intoxicated with a prior DWI conviction within the past 10 years, and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, all felonies. He was arraigned in Town of Ashland Court and committed to the Chemung County Jail without bail.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
