Elderly Woman Killed in Ebensburg Car Crash Identified
CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Cambria County Coroner, Jeff Lees, announced that the elderly woman killed in an Ebensburg car crash on May 6, 2025, has been identified as Frances Gabany, 94, of Colver. Gabany’s death was ruled accidental.
The crash occurred at the intersection of W High Street and Route 422 in Ebensburg Borough. A 2016 Chrysler, driven by Gabany’s daughter, rear-ended a 2013 van. Gabany, who was a passenger in the Chrysler, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her daughter was transported to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center and is in stable condition.
According to the Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees, an autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday. The Ebensburg Borough Police Department, a reconstruction team from Pennsylvania State Police, Dauntless Fire, and Ebensburg Ambulance all assisted at the scene.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing. The community is shocked by the incident, and condolences are pouring in for the family of Frances Gabany.
