Multi-Semi-Truck Crash on I-94 in Michigan Leaves Two Hospitalized
LANSING, Mich. — A crash involving multiple semi-trucks and a pickup truck on I-94 in Jackson County has left two people hospitalized, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred on Friday at around 10:56 a.m. near Parma Rd.
According to a shift activity report released Sunday, deputies responded to the crash involving three semi-trucks and a pickup truck in the westbound lanes of I-94. The sheriff’s office reported that one of the semi-trucks failed to yield to slowing traffic, crashing into the other vehicles. The driver of that truck was trapped and needed to be rescued.
Two others were transported to a nearby hospital, with one sustaining critical injuries. However, their condition has since been upgraded to serious. The crash closed all lanes of I-94, causing significant traffic backup while teams responded. Environmental cleanup teams were also required to respond due to fluid from the vehicles flowing into drains and nearby rivers.
The incident has highlighted the importance of road safety and the potential environmental impact of such accidents.
