A fatal rollover crash occurred on Interstate 95 in Pompano Beach, Florida, on Saturday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP). The incident happened just before 2 a.m. in the southbound lanes near Cypress Creek Road. A black Tesla Model Y collided with a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 5000 van from behind, causing the van to crash into a Cadillac ATS and roll over. The driver of the van was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. FHP has not released the victim’s name as they continue to notify family members. The Tesla came to rest facing south on the express lane delineators, while the Cadillac ended up on the outside grass shoulder. Neither the Tesla nor the Cadillac’s drivers were injured. Authorities reported that the Tesla driver “did not take driver action to avoid” the van. The investigation is ongoing, and it remains unclear whether the 27-year-old Miami man driving the Tesla will face charges.
