Pickup Truck Fire on Route 106 in Pembroke
PEMBROKE, NH — On Friday afternoon, a pickup truck caught fire on Sheep Davis Road, near the Concord line, causing a temporary closure of the road.
Around 4:45 p.m., police and fire and rescue teams were called to the area of Sheep Davis Road and Keith Avenue after a report of a vehicle on fire. Upon arrival, police observed flames emanating from the engine area of the truck, which had stopped on the side of the road. Some nearby trees were also reported to be on fire.

As firefighters arrived on the scene, they found the truck to be fully engulfed in flames. The battalion commander informed the Capital Region Fire Dispatch that they were closing down Route 106 just before 5 p.m. Police attempted to reroute traffic around Commerce Way as more firefighting teams arrived.
By around 5:15 p.m., firefighters had managed to knock down the majority of the fire. They anticipated reopening one lane of the highway by approximately 5:30 p.m. A video captured by News 603 showed firefighters dousing the truck.
At the time of reporting, the condition of the driver and the cause of the fire remained unknown.
Sheep Davis Road was closed for about 45 minutes during the incident. The quick response from the Pembroke fire and rescue teams helped contain the situation.
