Cadillac is revving up its electric game with the introduction of the 2026 Optiq-V, a high-performance variant of its compact SUV. The standard Optiq, priced from $54,390, already packs a punch with its quick acceleration. However, the V-Series version takes it to the next level, promising a thrilling 0-60 mph dash in just 3.5 seconds.
The Rise of Cadillac’s V-Series
Cadillac’s V-Series has long been synonymous with high-performance vehicles, offering more powerful engines, upgraded brakes, and enhanced suspension. Models like the CT5-V Blackwing and Escalade-V come with a hefty price tag due to the significant upgrades required to deliver their impressive performance. While traditional internal combustion engines require substantial modifications, electric vehicles (EVs) offer more flexibility. Many EVs have motors capable of delivering more power than their standard settings, and a simple reprogramming can unlock this potential.
Optiq-V: More Than Just a Power Boost
The Optiq-V isn’t just about raw power; it’s a comprehensive upgrade. With an estimated 519 horsepower, it significantly outpaces the standard Optiq’s 300 horsepower. The range takes a minor hit, dropping from over 300 miles to around 275 miles. Other notable upgrades include Brembo performance brakes at the front, tighter steering, and an enhanced suspension. The Optiq-V will also be the first General Motors vehicle to feature a Tesla-style North American Charging System port, allowing seamless charging at Tesla Superchargers.
Design and Interior Upgrades
Visually, the Optiq-V stands out with its unique front fascia, featuring a “signature V-pattern mesh” and a high-gloss black front splitter. The rear quarter windows sport a distinctive blue Cadillac Mondrian pattern. Inside, buyers can choose between two interior palettes: Noir with Santorini Blue accents or a combination of Noir, Sky Cool Gray, and Santorini Blue accents. The center console boasts genuine woven carbon fiber accents, adding a touch of luxury while reducing weight.
Production and Pricing
Production of the Optiq-V is set to begin this fall, with prices starting at $68,795, including the destination fee. As Cadillac continues to expand its V-Series lineup, the Optiq-V represents another step in the brand’s journey to deliver high-performance electric vehicles that combine power, style, and advanced technology.
