A motorcyclist died Sunday after being hit by a pickup truck while attempting to pass it on Route 232 in Woodstock. The 60-year-old Oxford resident was leading a group of motorcyclists around 7:50 p.m. when the incident occurred. According to the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office, the motorcyclist tried to pass a gray GM pickup truck traveling in the right lane. The pickup truck suddenly moved into the motorcycle’s lane, causing a collision that sent the motorcycle into the trees. The impact left the motorcyclist with severe injuries, and his 50-year-old female passenger from Oxford suffered significant injuries as well. Both were rushed to the hospital, where the man later died from his injuries. The pickup truck was last seen heading south on Route 26.
