Pedestrian Injured in Crash on Blue Star Highway
A serious accident occurred early Saturday morning on Blue Star Highway near 63rd Street in Allegan County. At approximately 1:53 a.m., a pedestrian was struck by a southbound pickup truck while attempting to jumpstart a disabled vehicle parked off the roadway. The victim was working between the two vehicles when the collision happened.

The Allegan County Sheriff’s Office reported that the victim was seriously injured and transported to a nearby hospital. Authorities believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing, and no names have been released.
The crash occurred in an area where Blue Star Highway is currently closed for reconstruction between 62nd Street and the 41-mile marker overpass on I-196. Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including Allegan County Central Dispatch, the Allegan County Crash Reconstruction Team, Douglas Police Department, Graafschap Fire Department, Holland AMR, and the Michigan Department of Transportation.
