Ram Takes Bold Step in Customer Assurance with Extended Warranty
In a significant move that underscores its commitment to quality and customer trust, Ram, the pickup truck division of multinational automaker Stellantis, has introduced what it describes as “America’s best full-size truck limited powertrain warranty” for its 2026 model year vehicles. This comprehensive guarantee covers a wide range of components including the engine, transmission, four-wheel-drive transfer case, axles, driveshafts, and differentials.

The new warranty applies to Ram trucks, chassis cabs, and vans starting with the 2026 model year, offering original owners – including retail buyers, lessees, and businesses – peace of mind with their long-term investment. However, fleet customers are excluded from this generous coverage. The decision to extend warranty coverage comes at a time when truck buyers are financing purchases for longer periods, with nearly 80% of new truck loans exceeding five years, according to Tim Kuniskis, CEO of Ram.
“Our customers are making a long-term investment in Ram, and with America’s best full-size truck limited powertrain warranty, Ram is making a stronger and longer commitment to our customers,” Kuniskis explained in a media release.
This move is particularly significant given the current market dynamics where durability and reliability are paramount. The extended warranty not only protects owners from unexpected repair costs but also reinforces Ram’s reputation for building capable trucks with upscale interiors. The brand’s commitment to quality has already been recognized by J.D. Power, which rated Ram No. 1 in its 2024 Initial Quality Study with a score of just 148 problems per 100 vehicles (PP100).

The warranty coverage is part of a broader strategy that includes the return of the popular Hemi V8 engine after a brief hiatus, demonstrating Ram’s responsiveness to customer preferences. As the automotive landscape continues to evolve, Ram’s bold move positions the brand favorably in a competitive market dominated by traditional truck buyers and tech-savvy consumers alike.
By backing its vehicles with such an extensive warranty, Ram is not only enhancing customer trust but also signaling confidence in the durability and performance of its products. As the brand continues to innovate in technology, design, and performance, this commitment to customer satisfaction is likely to play a crucial role in its future success.
