Flexis, a joint venture between Renault Group, Volvo Group, and CMA CGM, has unveiled its range of 100% electric urban vehicles designed for logistics operations. The vehicles are based on an 800V skateboard architecture and are the successors to the Estafette concept showcased at the IAA Transportation show in Hanover last September.
Key Features of Flexis Electric Vans
The Flexis range includes three models: the Step-In Van, Cargo Van, and Panel Van. These vehicles are designed to improve efficiency in logistics operations with features such as low floor height, customizable interiors, and high-capacity battery solutions. The vans have a range of up to 280 miles WLTP and can send real-time data to fleet management operators to maximize operational efficiency.
Software and Services
In addition to the electric vehicles, Flexis is developing a portfolio of B2B services to help logistics operators decarbonize their operations and improve efficiency. The services are built around four main pillars: Uptime Management, Operational Efficiency, Energy and Charging Infrastructure Management, and Financial Services. These will be delivered through a central digital platform called ‘FlexE Connect’ and service networks across Europe.
Industrialization and Market Launch
Flexis has invested €350 million in the development of its product range and is currently undergoing industrialization at the Renault Group’s Sandouville plant. The first customer deliveries are scheduled for 2026, with series production beginning in mid-2026. Flexis has already received ten letters of intent from logistics operators in France, the UK, and Germany, representing a potential demand of up to 15,000 vehicles over three years.
The Flexis electric van line is designed to be customizable and connected, with the capability to receive over-the-air updates. This positions the vehicles as ‘computers on wheels,’ enhancing their functionality and efficiency in logistics operations.
