Vancouver Launches Luxury Car Club with Access to 70 High-End Vehicles
A new luxury car club has launched in Vancouver, offering members the chance to drive a variety of high-end cars, SUVs, and sportscars. The Vancouver Luxury Car Club (VLCC) will provide members with 365 days of access per year to a fleet of 70 vehicles from top-tier brands such as Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, and Porsche.
Founder and CEO Mark Cheng explains that there’s nothing like this club in North America, and even globally, it’s a unique offering. A similar UK club charges around $300,000 per year, while VLCC is priced at $66,000 annually. Cheng, previously an auto dealer, notes that while the cost is substantial, it’s reasonable compared to purchasing a luxury vehicle.
“You can book a Ferrari for three days, and after that, you say, ‘Oh, I wanted to go up to Whistler, so [I’ll] take the Land Rover Defender,'” Cheng explains. “And then say, ‘Oh, I’ve got clients coming from overseas for my business, and I want to wine and dine them.’ So you take the Bentley Flying Spur or the Mercedes S Class.”
The VLCC will ultimately have a fleet of 75 cars with various vehicle types, allowing members to choose whatever they need, whenever they need it. The subscription includes access to supercars, luxury sports cars, luxury SUVs, and luxury sedans. Members can reserve and drive any vehicle in the fleet 365 days a year, with minimal restrictions on usage.
Cheng believes Vancouver is the supercar capital of North America, citing the high concentration of luxury vehicles on the city’s streets. He notes that the city’s proximity to scenic drives like the Sea to Sky Highway makes it an ideal location for car enthusiasts.
The VLCC is currently accepting membership applications. While the cost may be prohibitive for some, Cheng mentions that they’re working with local clubs to provide alternative experiences for car enthusiasts who can’t afford membership.
