A tragic accident occurred in southwest Michigan on Tuesday when a pickup truck rear-ended a golf cart, resulting in the death of a 60-year-old man. The incident took place around 5:15 p.m. on Lake Road near Stone Lake Road in St. Joseph Township’s White Pigeon Township. According to the Michigan State Police, the victim was driving the golf cart with two passengers when it was struck from behind by the pickup truck. The driver of the golf cart was pronounced dead at the scene, while his passengers suffered serious injuries and were rushed to a hospital. The 56-year-old driver of the pickup truck, a man from Bronson, sustained minor injuries. Authorities believe that drugs and excessive speed were contributing factors to the fatal crash. However, it remains unclear whether anyone involved was wearing seat belts at the time of the incident. The Michigan State Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
