Fatal Golf Cart Accident in White Pigeon Township
A fatal accident occurred Tuesday evening in White Pigeon Township, St. Joseph County, marking the second such incident in the area this week. A 61-year-old man driving a golf cart was rear-ended by a pickup truck at the intersection of Lake Road and Stone Road. The golf cart driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, speed and drugs are believed to be contributing factors in the crash. While charges against the truck driver have not been officially announced, the investigation is ongoing. This incident follows a previous fatal crash in St. Joseph County just two days prior, involving a 20-year-old driver from Sturgis, Edgar Eduardo Hernandez-Alcantar. Alcohol was reportedly a factor in that incident. The 20-year-old driver was hospitalized but in stable condition as of Wednesday afternoon. The name of the golf cart driver has not been released pending further investigation.
