Turkish car manufacturer TOGG remains at the forefront of the electric vehicle market in Turkey, having sold over 17,000 units of its popular T10X model in the first six months of 2025. This represents 20% of all electric cars sold during this period in the country. The company is now gearing up to launch its new T10F sports sedan model on the market this summer.
According to data from the Association of Automobile and Mobility Dealers of Turkey (ODMD), more than 600,000 cars were sold in Turkey between January and June 2025, marking a 5.2% increase compared to the same period last year. During this time, sales of 100% electric vehicles surged by 138.4% to reach 84,956 units, causing their share of total car sales in Turkey to rise from 7.7% in the first half of 2024 to 17.4% in 2025.
The share of hybrid cars in total vehicle sales also experienced growth, increasing from 14% to 27% during the same period. Consequently, when combining 100% electric cars, extended-range cars, and hybrids, they collectively accounted for 44.6% of all cars sold in the first six months of 2025. Analysts anticipate this trend to continue growing in Turkey, which is already among the top 10 markets for electric cars in Europe, based on ODMD figures.
TOGG, the manufacturer of Turkey’s first electric car, maintained its leading position in the first half of 2025 by selling 17,101 vehicles. This outperformed its closest competitor, US-based Tesla, by 4,781 units. TOGG’s market share stood at 20% in the first six months of the year, with sales increasing from the 13,021 recorded in the first half of 2024. All of these sales were attributed to the T10X model, which is set to be introduced in the European market later this year.
The top players in Turkey’s ‘full electric’ market include TOGG, Tesla, and BYD. Tesla secured the second position in the Turkish electric market with 12,320 units sold between January and June 2025, while BYD ranked third with 10,401 units. When looking at June data alone, Tesla led 100% electric sales with 7,235 units, followed by BYD (3,361 units), TOGG (3,098 units), Citroen (2,469 units), and Peugeot (1,174 units).
TOGG is preparing to launch its new T10F sedan model, which was unveiled at CES 2024 in Las Vegas. This new model boasts a sleeker and sportier design than its predecessor, offering an extended range of approximately 600 km, as well as advanced assisted driving and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies. The T10F was recently tested by Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan, further highlighting its significance for TOGG’s continued dominance in the Turkish electric car market.
