New Contract Supports UK Military Vehicle Fleet
A new contract worth £71 million will provide maintenance and support for thousands of British Army land vehicles. This initiative boosts the government’s growth plan by generating hundreds of job opportunities. This was announced during the Defence Vehicle Dynamic (DVD) event held at Millbrook.

The British Army’s next-generation armored vehicles.
The contract, known as Conventional Vehicle Systems Spares and Post Design Services (CVSSP), covers spare parts and design services for various utility and combat vehicles, plus supporting equipment. It’s expected to generate and sustain around 100 skilled jobs in Coventry.
The contract’s scope includes extending the lifespan of the Land Rover fleet, Pinzgauer fleet, protected Land Rovers, RWMIK vehicles, and the Lightweight Trailer fleet. This guarantees value for money while covering requirements until new vehicle programs are complete.
The CVSSP contract secures the upkeep of over 15,000 land vehicles for the next four years and simplifies operations by centralizing previous individual contracts into a single point of contact. This centralized approach maintains vehicle fleet readiness to fulfill operational and training requirements.
Minister for Defence Procurement and Industry, Maria Eagle, commented on the significance of the new agreement: “We will deliver a state-of-the-art combat vehicle fleet, ensuring our soldiers are equipped with firepower, protection, and mobility. This new contract will help secure the future of these crucial capabilities, streamlining the processes involved in repairs and upgrades, while boosting UK economic growth at the same time.”
Over 1,300 of these vehicles are scheduled for delivery before the decade’s end, providing world-class reconnaissance, secure armored transport, and the most lethal tank in the UK’s history.
These three armored vehicle types will form the core of future Brigade Combat Teams, boosting the British Army’s fighting capacity. With more than £11 billion invested in new armored fighting vehicles, the project is significantly contributing to job creation, with the Boxer vehicle alone supporting 400 jobs in the West Midlands and North East Wales, as well as up to 1,000 jobs nationwide.
Brigadier Matt Wilkinson from the Vehicle Support Team at Defence, Equipment and Support, highlighted the long-term partnership with NP Aerospace, emphasizing the provision of excellent service to the Armed Forces and alignment with the MOD’s future Land Industrial Strategy initiatives.
