Highway 401 Crash in Scarborough
Early Sunday morning, a serious collision on Highway 401 in Scarborough resulted in three individuals being hospitalized, with one sustaining critical injuries.
Ontario Provincial Police reported that the incident happened around 2 a.m. in the westbound lanes near Morningside.
A black car carrying three men crashed into a Ministry of Transportation (MTO) truck.
The MTO truck was positioned to safeguard the scene of an earlier accident.

MTO personnel had strategically placed a blocker truck and a pickup truck in two of the three westbound lanes approaching Morningside.
The MTO pickup truck, which the car collided with, was parked in the right westbound lane.
The truck was unoccupied at the time of the accident.
Fortunately, the driver of the MTO blocker truck, which was parked alongside the pickup truck, was unharmed.
The three men in the car were transported to the hospital.
One of the individuals remains in critical condition.
Westbound collector lanes were temporarily closed but have since reopened.
