HAYFIELD TOWNSHIP, Minn. – A traffic accident in Dodge County, Minnesota, on Wednesday morning, resulted in injuries when a garbage truck collided with a pickup truck.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Darren Allan Reddel, 38, of Riceville, Iowa, was operating a 2024 Freightliner garbage truck. Reddel was exiting a driveway and entering Highway 30 when the collision occurred with an eastbound 2011 Ford Ranger. The Ranger was driven by Raymond Richard Kyllo, 90, of Hayfield.
The incident took place shortly before 8:30 a.m. near mile marker 205.
While Reddel was unharmed in the collision, Kyllo sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin for medical treatment.
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and Hayfield Ambulance provided assistance at the scene.
