Elderly Woman Critical After Wadebridge Collision
WADEBRIDGE, CORNWALL – Authorities are seeking witnesses after a serious collision in Wadebridge left an elderly woman in critical condition. The incident occurred on Jubilee Road on Tuesday, February 25th, at approximately 2:55 PM.
According to Devon and Cornwall Police, the crash involved a red Vauxhall Corsa and a white Nissan van. The Corsa reportedly collided with the parked, unattended Nissan near the Wadebridge Medical Centre car park before striking a stone wall.
The front-seat passenger of the Vauxhall Corsa, a woman in her 80s, sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash and was airlifted to the hospital. The driver, also in his 80s, was transported to the hospital with serious, though non-life-threatening, injuries.
In a statement, Devon and Cornwall Police said, “Police investigating a serious road traffic collision in Wadebridge on Tuesday are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.”
The Devon and Cornwall Roads Policing Team and local response officers attended the scene, and the road was reopened around 9 PM following an investigation.
