LEXINGTON, N.C. — A driver was taken into custody Wednesday following a crash involving a U-Haul pickup truck and a Biscuitville restaurant, according to the Lexington Police Department.
At roughly 9:56 a.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to the Biscuitville located at 918 Winston Road after receiving reports of a vehicle inside the building and the possibility of people trapped. Upon arrival, officers found a white 2024 U-Haul Chevrolet Silverado that had crashed into the back of the building. A gas leak was also detected, prompting further investigation.
Winston Road, between 9th Avenue and 11th Avenue, is currently closed until further notice. The driver of the vehicle was apprehended at the scene but authorities have not released further information.
